New serie of my last shoot with Maya with the theme "A princess Tale".
She's a wonderful model, so thank you dear! ;-)
I only used 2 flashes in the whole serie....

Hidden Places

This is a collection of places who are hidden and ready to discover. I call them 'Hidden Places', because it's hard to find them or difficult to reach. I always say "Look and you will see"....
All taken with a Nikon D80 in RAW format.

Hotel Kosmos

Hotel Kosmos

This family park in the south of Belgium got abandoned in 2002. The hotel and swimming pool were famous recreation places in the 1980’s.

In 1889 the first touristy place was build, a watch-tower on top of a hill in the area. The tower is rebuild after WWII within it was destroyed. In 1934 on another hill the hotel Kosmos was build to attract more tourists. Later an open air swimming pool is opened at the same hill.

New 'Before and After'

Something new now.......

Many people are interested in "before and After", so I made some effort and made a new Album to show you how photos can change with several programs. Mostly I use Photoshop CS5 and sometimes Elements 7 too.

For the skin I use Portrait professional which works really good!

For HDR I use Photomatix pro...awesome toy :-)
It's always important that you shoot well too with the right light and equalization , cause not everyting depends on the post processing afterwarts.
You can see the photos larger in the slideshow.
I hope you enjoy....more photos will come, so keep a closer look at this album :-)

A forgotten and abandoned Chateau Lurking on a domain somewhere in Belgium. The history of this Chateau is going back to the year 1913. Abandoned since 2003.
This castle also calls itself : Chateau du loup.

Vintage romance shoot

This shoot took place on the 13th of July and here is the result. Style : 40's Vintage.
We found a very nice Hotel which was perfect for the shoot in Aalst.

"De Hoorn" Brewery

It was the 3th Strobist meeting in belgium.
About 35 Photographers were present and 10 models I believe.
Location : Brouwerij "De Hoorn" at Leuven.

I brought my own model "Andrea", she did it very well again with some clothes we rented. I did the visagie and hair........

The secret Life of Trees

Trees are like people, some trees don't get along and some trees do very much.
The look of the Forest is never the same.
Trees can trick you too :-)
This is a collection which I find are worthy to put on the net and to be showed to the world instead of rotten away on my computer.

The most beautiful time of the year to take pictures of the forest is Autumn.
Then you certainly find me there.......

Don't be scared of the forest, they just look scary sometimes, and don't mention the animals inside :D

The Belgian Coast

See "The Sea" through my eyes.........

Oostende is my birth place, so there are certainly much photos of it.
De Haan is also my favorite place and ofcourse very interesting to shoot when I am there.

I made a selection of my very best during the last year. Probably you will recognize most places.

Villa Loretta

An abandoned house since? found in my own village in Belgium. I used the HDR technique to have the most details of the scene.
It has a painted wall that reminds me of Italy when the weather is beautiful, but not much is left of the furniture though...........Visited with respect for the Villa.

Car cemetery

Deep into the woods

This Car cemetery deep into the woods of the deepest ardennes is well hidden. It's a real graveyard of beautiful and rusted cars from the 50's and 60's. Walking and climbing next to the cars has a strange feeling. a feeling that once someone drove these cars who where once shiny and the proudness of young men and perhaps women.
In fact most of these abandoned cars are from former soldiers located by a nearby but vanished military base. After the second world war the returning soldiers must have left these cars with the local people. After some time the cars where dumped into the woods......the result of this action you can see on these photos.

It's a shame to see that most of the logos and dashboards are stolen from the cars. I also believe that people do use these parts for reparing there own oldtimers. some parts and materials don't excist anymore. It's certainly not a reason to hurt these precious beauties. Once they where glorious and deserve to be left alone so they can go piecefully and preserve there memories.......

Take only photographs, don't touch anything, leave nothing but footprints

Le Fantôm du Cinéma

"Le Fantôme du Cinéma Theater varia"

Modelshoot at Cinéma Varia. This is one of the last cinéma theater dating from before the first world War remaining in belgium. Build between 1910-1913, abandoned since 1986.
